Alright, let's just get this part out of the way: I was clearly very wrong about Justify and Mendelssohn. Perhaps the most mistaken I've ever been, haha. I got swayed by Mendelssohn's dramatic UAE Derby win, despite logically knowing that there are a myriad of plausible reasons why no UAE Derby winner has ever won the Kentucky Derby. And Justify? While I don't think my doubt of him was altogether unreasonable, maybe if I weren't trying so hard to make a counter-argument against one of the bluegrass favorites, I would have seen what everyone else was seeing: a strong, capable colt trained by the man who knows just what to do with strong capable colts.
But let's focus on today's race! The Breeders' Cup Classic, like grad school for Triple Crown contenders. Analysis and predictions after the jump!
