Ten horses are entered into the Breeders' Cup Classic, scheduled to be run today (Halloween!) very shortly at Keeneland. Here are my predictions and bets! With Beholder and Smooth Roller out of the picture, handicapping this got easier. Looking simply at recent races and staying power, it's clear to me that Keen Ice, American Pharoah, and Frosted are the horses to watch today. Frosted, especially, finally found victory in the Pennsylvania Derby over the summer, and this was the exact race that Bayern used last year as a prep race. I'm mostly writing off Honor Code- he has an amazing pedigree, but he is entirely untested at this distance. Tonalist has been good in the past, but recently he's wavered. With his last win less than a month ago at this distance, I'm not sure he has it in him to win again. Effinex has won at this distance too, so I am going to keep an eye on him. My bets: As you can see, I still haven't given up on my trifecta boxes. It just seemed like the best way to encapsulate my wishy-washiness regarding who among Frosted, Pharoah, and Keen Ice will take the lead. We'll see how this works out for me momentarily!
